I keep forgetting that not every one reads the standard catalog of smith and wesson and looks at them every day on the auction sites. Anybody here or on any other forum with a copy of The Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson can give you the age once they know the serial #. I don't see the Smith & Wesson Model 52-2 on "THE LIST" does anybody know if it is C&R eligible? This is the bible for S&W collectors. There is one Standard catalog of Smith & Wesson states that model 52-2 was produced from 1971-1993. You do indeed have a prize there and congratulations! Send me a PM with the serial number and I will look up the production date(s) for you in the Standard Catalog of Smith and Wesson. Never seen a reference to it in any of my S&W references, including the Journal of the SWCA (Smith & Wesson Collector's Association). No mention of a “Pinkerton Model” in my Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson (3rd Ed). I have the wonderful Standard Catalog of Smith and Wesson by Supica here.
